We are delighted to welcome Scott Jobson as the new Chief Executive of MySight York. Scott brings considerable experience of the voluntary sector, having previously worked for RNIB (most recently as Network Manager for Yorkshire & Humberside) and Hartlepool and District Hospice. His expertise includes community engagement, fundraising, volunteer management, campaigning, organisational strategy and governance – all of which will be put to good use in his new role.

MySight York Chair Jim Wallace had this to say about Scott’s appointment: “We are very pleased to have secured a chief executive of the calibre of Scott, particularly given his experience of sight loss, to further progress the work of MySight York.”

When asked how he felt about his appointment, Scott said, “To say I am excited is an understatement. I am extremely passionate about ensuring the voices of people with sight loss are heard. I have had quite a bit of interaction with MySight York, who I know are respected nationally. I can’t wait to continue the good work already happening and help grow the organisation. But if I’m to be very honest, I’m genuinely most excited about working with all of the staff, volunteers and trustees and becoming part of the close team that Karen has been building since 2018.”
