Barbara Fairs Appointed Chief Executive Officer of MySight York

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Barbara Fairs as Chief Executive Officer of MySight York.

Following a thorough recruitment process and consideration of a strong field of candidates, the Board of Trustees selected Barbara to lead the charity into its next chapter. Her extensive experience, leadership skills and deep understanding of the organisation made her the clear choice for the role.

Barbara has a warm smile. She has shoulder length wavy auburn hair and is wearing a gold diamond shaped necklace, a black top and maroon cardigan.

Barbara has been serving as Interim CEO since the departure of our previous Chief Executive, providing stability, strong leadership and a clear sense of direction during a period of transition. Throughout this time, she has worked closely with colleagues, volunteers and stakeholders to ensure the continued delivery of MySight York’s vital services and support for people living with sight loss in York.

 

Commenting on the appointment, the Board of Trustees said:

“The panel considered a strong field of candidates through a thorough recruitment process, which highlighted Barbara’s strengths, experience and leadership, making her the clear choice to lead the charity into its next chapter.”

The Trustees also wished to thank the wider MySight York team for their commitment and support during the transition period.

“Barbara’s success as Interim CEO has been underpinned by the dedication, flexibility and hard work of our staff and volunteers. We are extremely grateful for the teamwork and commitment shown over recent months, which has ensured the seamless continuation of MySight York’s work.”

Barbara’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for MySight York as the charity continues its mission to support people affected by sight loss in York, to live independently, confidently and fully.
