Supporting MySight York can be fun, easy, exciting and worthwhile. We need to raise £150,000 a year to provide the services that local people with sight loss rely on. Whatever you do to help us achieve this target, we greatly appreciate your support.
The past year has proved very challenging for community fundraising but there are still lots of ways to support us.
Make a Donation
To make a regular or one-off donation click the pink Donate Now button on the right of the screen.
Just £10 pays for a Liquid Level Indicator, enabling our Sight Support Advisers to show a blind or partially sighted person how to make a cup of tea safely.
£25 enables someone who’s newly diagnosed with sight loss to meet with our Eye Clinic Liaison Officer at York Hospital.
£50 pays for an expert reading assessment, enabling a blind or partially sighted person to explore specialist equipment and techniques to help them enjoy reading again.
Hold a fundraising event
Maybe you would like to jump out of a plane, fly down a zip wire or even shave your head to raise money for us? If so click here to set up your own fundraising page.
Leave a Legacy
Some people choose to leave us a gift in their will. Their generosity can make a lasting difference to the services we provide.
Our partnership with Remember a Charity in Your Will gives you access to a special discount on Co-Op Legal Service’s will writing service. Alternatively you can use Bequeathed to find a legal firm of your choosing.
We are always happy to work with businesses who want to support us, whether it be through sponsorship, direct donations, payroll giving or volunteering. If you are interested in becoming a fundraising partner, please contact Mike Hickman (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
Other ways to give
There are many other ways to support us besides direct donations.
If you have unwanted DVDs, CDs, books or games at home, you can pass them on and donate the proceeds to us with Ziffit’s “Declutter and Donate” scheme.
If you’re thinking of sending friends or family a card, why not choose an e-card from Don’t Send Me a Card and donate funds to us at the same time?
Finally, perhaps you know a local shop or business who could give a home to one of our ‘pink elephant’ collecting boxes? Please let us know.
However you choose to help us, we would like to say a huge THANK YOU. Every donation we receive makes a real difference to the lives of the blind and partially sighted people we support.
